Haraam issues in modern anaasheed and the conditions of nasheed being permissible

Praise be to Allaah.Firstly: Nasheeds have changed from what they were at first. Unfortunately nasheeds and munshids (nasheed-“singers”) have sunk to this level. Whereas nasheeds used to have meanings of faith, jihad and knowledge, they have now – in many cases – become akin to the songs of evildoers, with softening of the voice, putting a picture [...]

Halloween: Harmless or Haraam?

Taken from TROID.org An concise article detailing the origins of how Halloween started and outlining its pagan roots.  The article continues to expound upon the proper Islaamic ruling concerning its celebration and a warning to the ignorant Muslims who fall into it. Even if one decides to go along with the outward practises of Hallow’een without acknowledging the deeper significance or historical background of this custom, he or she is still guilty of indulging in this pagan festival. A Reply to the Claim that Ibn Taymiyyah Supported the Mawlid

A clear uncovering of the Soofee plot to clip Shaykhul-Islaam’s words and make it look as though he was in support of the mawlid.  Here the reader will find the true position Shaykhul-Islaam unedited, along with a clear exposition of the Soofie lies surrounding this issue. So honouring the mawlid, and taking it as a festive season (mawsam) which some of the people have done, there is a great reward in it due to the good intention and the honouring of the Messenger because of what I have previously stated to you – that it is possible that something be good for some of the people and be denounced/considered to be ugly by the strict believer. […]

A Reply to the Soofee Claim that Ibn Katheer Supported Mawlid

TAKEN FROM TROID.org Yet another reply to the fallacious Soofie fabrications against al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer with respect to the issue of the mawlid.  This time they quote from a book in which he did not claim what they allege he did. Then what ibn Katheer mentions in the section on the Prophetic biography in his ‘Bidaayah wan Nihaayah’, and in his lengthy ‘Seerah’ and in the sections of ‘Ikhtisaar Seerah ar-Rasool’, and in his stand alone treatise on the Mawlid published with the tahqeeq of Salaah ad-Deen al-Manjad, and in his revision to the Mawlid of his shaykh Kamaal ad-Deen Abee Ma’aalee Muhammad bin Alee al-Ansaaree contained in the section detailing ‘Dalaa’il an-Nubuwwah’ in his ‘Bidaayah wan Nihaayah’ he does not present anything in these concerning the celebration of the Mawlid of the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) and neither of the evil practices that have occurred amongst the later generations with respect to the Mawlid. […]

Discussion of Hadeeth on Mawlid

FROM TROID.org A full takhreej of the famous narration used by Ahlul-Bid’ah to justify their celebration of the Prophet’s birthday.  Know – O Sunnee – that even if this weak hadeeth could be considered authentic, then it would be referring to the ’aqeeqah of the Prophet and not his birthday. Do you see the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam), for whom the aqeeqah was not performed in the days of Jaahiliyyah, performing Aqeeqah for themselves in Islaam? This is from the rejected (narrations).Discussion of the hadeeth “The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) performed Aqeeqah for himself after his Prophethood.” […]

Ibn Hajr and Ibn Kathir on the Inventor of the Milad

Article ID : BDH060004 [6520]   As regards the celebration of the birthday of the Messenger (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam), the scholars have clearly stated that the person who first introduced this innovation (bid'a) was Muzaffar ad-Din ibn Zain al-Din, the ruler of Irbil.
